Amaya Mueller is the Government Affairs Manager at Sutherland Institute. In this role, Amaya helps develop policy and shepherd legislative efforts on Capitol Hill. She has experience conducting research and lobbying for a variety of public policy initiatives ranging everywhere from education reform to elections procedures and developing technology.
With more than 5 years of public policy experience, Amaya enjoys connecting with coalition members, elected officials, and individuals to create lasting impact in our state through policy.
Previously, Amaya interned with Representative Brad Last, with whom she worked to help prepare the 2023 Utah state budget. Amaya has experience managing communications, events, and policy development locally and federally.
Amaya holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in communications. Amaya and her husband, Edward, live in American Fork with their boy/girl twins.
